Training, introduction & preparation for mountain bike competition for elementary age shredders. Focus will be on developing a complete rider to include safety, fun, team building, skills & endurance. Mountain bike competition is required and will include XC and enduro. Riders are encouraged to participate in a minimum of TWO XC races and TWO enduro races. Stay tuned as the race schedule is still being developed.
Spring training will be on Monday’s during RSC’s normal spring schedule. Other clinics, rides, & events will be ad hoc.
Minimum skill & fitness levels will be defined for beginning of season (March). These will be accessed on a designated weekend(s) prior to start of season. If athlete cannot meet this minimum requirement, then “acceleration” options will be discussed.

Enduro: We will identify 4 spring/summer races (TBD)
• Bryce Down-Duro Race Series (5 spring – fall)
• Snowshoe Hot Dogs & Handlebars
• WV Enduro Series
• Monday Lick (Marlington)
• Future Cove &/or MM races
(these will be vetted as “appropriate”)
A: No. These practices are not like “rec league” days. Additionally, the competitive aspects of cycling are at the center of this program. Bridge Team is ADDITIONAL to Rec League...we want you riding at least twice per week.
A: We are trying to introduce & develop the whole rider. Enduro events (hand selected) require endurance and “force” good bike handling skills.
A: Mondays should be fun but intentionally challenging. For the balance of the week we want your athlete to be riding at Req League. There will be plenty of time for “training programs” when they are in high school. Don’t rush it.
A: Regarding the bike the practices & races will be selected that will allow a hard tail with working front fork. The coaches will be available to provide a review and discuss your athlete’s bike. Regarding PPE we recommend gloves, knee pads & protective eye wear for some enduro practices. Bryce Bike park will require a full-face helmet which will be available to rent.
