RSC brought a strong crew to Snowshoe for Round #6 of the West Virginia Enduro Series, and our racers were ready for a big day in the backcountry. With 14 RSC riders among 114 competitors, the team took on a challenging six-stage course packed with long climbs, technical terrain, fast descents, and plenty of West Virginia adventure.
This year’s Snowshoe Enduro featured all backcountry trails based around the Silver Creek area. WV delivered on backcountry fun with long transfers, good climbs, amazing views, rocks and roots, and fast descents. The 6-stage race was ‘only’ about 16 miles, but it definitely felt like more. The full pull was a new section of Slide Run, two climbs/descents through the Fingers, two climbs/descents off Airport, and the long run out and back to Headset Adjustment.
Rachel Reynolds and Lila Nicely intimidated their competition and raced a class of their own. Sam Glenn, Henry Owens, and Rowan were all top 8 in a very large category. Skip Huffman kept the heat on the 6-stage racers, making sure no one was dropping back.
Pro and Expert course racers (Jack Robertson, Lucinda Cherbaka, Abi Snyder, and Matt King) tacked on a 3rd lap through the Fingers to catch Tiger King for a 7th stage. That was a BIG race day!
Beginner Course riders (Lauren Yates, London Merchant, and Khalil Ellis) all completed their 3-stage race with a ton of excitement and smiles. Special thanks to Troy Lenderking for racing to support our Beginner Course riders.
From first-time beginner course racers to experienced Pro and expert riders, the RSC crew showed up ready to challenge themselves, support each other, and have a whole lot of fun along the way. Whether racing three stages or seven, every rider put in a huge effort and the smiles at the finish told the story.
Congratulations to all of our Snowshoe racers and to the entire RSC enduro crew on an incredible season! With the final rounds of the WV Enduro Series still to come, keep an eye on those standings, you may spot a few more familiar RSC names near the top.
