Roanoke Star Cycling is excited to introduce a new initiative launching this spring — the Roanoke College Ambassador Program. Through this program, a member of the Roanoke College mountain bike team will attend weekly practices throughout the season to support athlete development, assist coaches, and help strengthen connections within the regional mountain biking community.
We are proud to welcome our first ambassador, Samuel Lang. Samuel is originally from New Kent, Virginia and is currently living in Salem while attending Roanoke College as a sophomore majoring in Engineering Science. He has been riding mountain bikes for eight years and began competing as a sixth grader with his local NICA team, Colonial Revolution.
Since graduating high school, Samuel has continued to give back to youth cycling by volunteering as a coach with both Colonial Revolution and Battlefield Composite. His experience as a rider and mentor will be a valuable addition to Roanoke Star Cycling practices this season.
