Last weekend Roanoke Star Cycling Gravity team had 8 racers travel to Ride Rock Creek Bike Park in Zirconia, NC for the first race of the Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series. This is new national series for pro and amateur riders that brought in some of the best racers from all over North America. We had three boys competing in the Cat 1 15-16. Rowan Clark finished the weekend up with a p24 and Charlie Black finished with a p27. Henry Owen was coming in hot but unfortunately had a crash that caused a DNF, fortunately no serious injuries. Jack Lenderking represented RSC for the Cat 1 17-18 and finished with a p33. Pauly Ingrassia Cassell finished with a p16 for the Cat 2 15-16 and Sorin Vladu pulled out a top 10 finish with p10 for Cat 2 17-18. Nasir Ebrahim had a crash in practice on Saturday that forced him to DNS with a sprained wrist. Juli Black competed in Cat 1 Women 15-16 and stepped onto the podium with a p4 finish. We are super proud of all of our young athletes. Next up is Downhill Southeast Race #2 at Massanutten, Va.
