We are thrilled to announce that Aaron Garland has stepped into the role of Wednesday Day Captain for Roanoke Star Cycling!
A Roanoke native with a lifelong appreciation for our region’s outdoor resources, Aaron brings a wealth of experience and a heart for youth development to our team. For Aaron, mountain biking is about more than just trails—it’s about building confidence and community.
Aaron’s commitment to Roanoke’s youth is well-established. His background includes:
Community Outreach: Volunteering with the Pedal Up program at the West End Center and the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Club Experience: Serving as a parent support coach for our Rec Team.
Cycling Passion: An avid rider who shares his love for the sport with his family, including 250-mile bike treks along the Portuguese coast with his daughters.
"I love being outside and watching kids have fun, take on challenges, and learn new skills along the way. I believe it’s vitally important to provide as many kids as possible access to these opportunities."
As his daughter joins the XC team, Aaron is excited to transition into this new volunteer role, supporting our coaches and ensuring our Wednesday sessions are safe, fun, and impactful.
