The Executive Director (ED) will provide leadership, direction, and oversight for RSC. This part-time role will focus on the day-to-day operations, organizational management, fundraising, and community engagement. The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors, as well as key volunteers, including the coach development director, marketing director, head coaches, and lead coaches, to ensure the organization's mission and goals are achieved.
Leadership and Governance:
Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization, representing RSC to the community, donors, and partners.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors and President to develop and implement strategic plans and organizational goals.
Support Board meetings, including preparation of materials and reports.
Ensure the organization's mission and values are reflected in all programming and operations.
Program Management and Staff Collaboration:
Oversee the implementation and growth of all RSC programs, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission and meet the needs of participants.
Work closely with the coach development director to support coaching staff development and training.
Coordinate with head coaches and lead coaches to ensure effective program delivery and participant engagement.
Support the marketing director in shaping strategies, while staying informed about ongoing marketing efforts.
Fundraising and Financial Management:
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization’s mission, including donor relations, grants, sponsorships, and events.
Collaborate with the Board to ensure sound financial management, including preparing budgets, managing expenses, and ensuring financial sustainability.
Identify and build partnerships with local businesses, foundations, and community stakeholders to support RSC's initiatives.
Community Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key community stakeholders, including local government agencies, businesses, and other nonprofit organizations.
Support RSC’s presence and reputation in the local cycling and recreation communities.
Operational Oversight:
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Provide support and guidance to RSC volunteers, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Oversee the logistical aspects of programs, including equipment, facilities, and event management.
Passion for cycling, youth development, and outdoor recreation.
Previous experience in nonprofit management, ideally in the outdoor recreation or youth sports sectors.
Familiarity with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).
Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and build organizational capacity.
Strong communication skills, including public speaking, writing, and digital communication.
Demonstrated experience in fundraising and building partnerships.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with Board of Directors and volunteers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and relevant technology tools.
Knowledge of the local community and cycling network is a plus.
The Executive Director will work remotely with a flexible schedule, with occasional in-person meetings and events required.
This is a part-time role, averaging approximately 20 hours per week.
Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required for events and meetings.
Compensation:
